Situated in the open fields of the Fraser River flats, this was the first of three new stations along the Vancouver International Airport branch of the Canada Line Rapid Transit System completed in 2009. The overlapping curvilinear design of the roof structure recalls imagery of the layered mountain ranges to the north and offers clerestory lighting and views. The station, located along the flight path approach to a main runway, is a unique platform from which passengers can experience airport activity within the context of the larger landscape.
