Offering transportation service for a host of airport related functions, this was the second of three new stations along the Vancouver International Airport branch of the Canada Line Rapid Transit System completed in 2009. The design of the station, bound on all sides by the major YVR access roads, responds to the speed and movement of its context: the lightness of the gently curving roof and glazed walls contrasts with the strong linear edges of surrounding transportation routes. The site constraints necessitated connecting bridges, an additional entry building and an access ramp to the south.
