With sweeping views of False Creek and the North Shore mountains, the Creekside Community Recreation Centre, located on the waterfront in Vancouver’s Olympic Village, hosts fitness rooms, a restaurant, a dance studio, a child-care facility and a dragon boating and kayaking centre. The seawall, which runs along the north side of the building, provides easy access for cyclists and pedestrians. Used during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games as a media centre, the facility was returned to the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation for conversion to a state-of-the-art community centre in 2010.
The project was designed in collaboration with Nick Milkovich Architects Inc. and received LEED Platinum certification.
