The facility includes a gymnasium, fitness centre, washroom core, teen centre, café, dance studio and multi-purpose rooms, all connected by a central atrium. Each program area is orientated to take advantage of natural light and to provide generous visual and physical connections to the surrounding community spaces.
The design of the community centre endeavours to strengthen the social and cultural richness of the community by promoting social gathering; knitting the surrounding community together with inviting indoor and outdoor events and celebrations. The project uses of the largest CTL panel in Canada. A Hybrid system of CLT panels, glulam structure and acoustical steel deck was used to meet the cost-effective sustainability targets, whilst creating a bright, warm and welcoming space that the local community can be proud of.

The community centre was designed to meet the ambitious energy efficiency target of 160 kw/hr/per year, which at the time was equivalent to 1/3 of the yearly energy consumption for a typical community centre. Additionally, it was designed to meet LEED Gold equivalent standards.
