Career
Francl was founded on the belief that people are what make everything possible.
Our staff help us win work, keep our office running, and shape our culture.
For this reason, we invest deeply in our people, taking the time to understand what motivates each individual and shaping our workplace to support diverse needs and ways of working. What sets Francl apart is a spirit of collaboration and teamwork that defines our culture. Rather than operating in silos of projects, teams, or studios, the entire office functions as a shared resource for learning and growth.
We believe that success for one is success for all, fostering a culture where staff are invested in one another and supported across disciplines. We strengthen this culture through regular social connections, from our annual ski and curling event to office traditions like monthly treats, out-of-office gatherings, and outdoor summer activities. We value life beyond the workplace and strive to create an environment where work and life can meaningfully coexist.
Professional Development
At Francl, we take pride in being a firm dedicated to teaching and learning. We actively support the ongoing professional development of our staff by offering both paid time off and reimbursement for activities related to professional growth.

We are a member of the AIBC’s REP Program, which allows Francl to host AIBC-accredited professional development events in-house, and access to quality educational offerings throughout the year.
Co-Op and Internship Opportunities
For co-op terms, we partner with the University of Waterloo and UBC SALA to offer four-month placements. We aim to match each student with a project aligned with their interests whether it’s infrastructure, residential, landscape, or urban design to encourage a more meaningful and hands-on learning experience.
Scholarship Program
We believe it is our responsibility to support and inspire the next generation of architects and designers by equipping them with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in the real world, regardless of economic background.
In support of this commitment, Francl is proud to offer scholarship programs at the University of British Columbia (established in 2018) and the British School of Institute and Technology, helping students with the greatest financial need pursue their aspirations of becoming architects.
