Parkcrest Elementary
The renovation of Parkcrest Elementary was to create a seismically sound building as well as to create a more welcoming, accessible, and rejuvenated learning environment for its students.

The new addition to the school was designed to integrate learning commons, breakout rooms and an open library to facilitate 21st Century learning. The school also incorporates a Gender Based Analysis Plus approach, including gender neutral washrooms, universal accessibility throughout the building and site, and inclusive design strategies such as flexible functional zoning, acoustic performance, accessible furniture and millwork, and the integration of a limited mobility elevator.
A new kindergarten addition has been designed as a seismic anchor, reducing the extent of required upgrades to the existing structure and improving overall operational efficiency. Further renovations included full hazardous material abatement, lighting, HVAC, life safety system upgrades and new finishes throughout.
