To address long term regional growth, Metro Vancouver is undertaking a major expansion of the Northwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant

The project pairs process engineering with architectural, site planning, and community integration. It also is being designed to required flood construction level, urban integration with adjacent communities, and connectivity for public multi-use trails along the Fraser River foreshore improvements.
The Operations & Maintenance building is being designed with Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels and glulam columns & beams, in combination with concrete structure at the basement and the heavy-duty shops to meet post-disaster requirements for uninterrupted treatment plant operations. It is targeting LEED Gold and Envision Gold certifications, including design to be net zero energy ready.
