Lonsdale Energy Sewer Heat Recovery

The Sewer Heat Recovery Plan (SHRP) is expected to generate a maximum of 10MW of heat from sewage at maximum capacity, and increase the total renewable energy for Lonsdale Energy’s District Energy System.
Location
North Vancouver, BC
Client
Lonsdale Energy Corporation
Situated in the mixed-used neighbourhood of Marine-Hamilton, theSHRP is spearheading Lonsdale Energy’s and the City of North Vancouver’s commitment to supplying 40% of thermal energy sales from low-carbon sources in 2027.
The building is a two storey plant, and designed to accommodate the major equipment and functional spaces on a challenging and constrained site adjacent to Mosquito Creek, ensuring optimal operation at the specified capacity.
Additionally, it is Lonsdale Energy’s goal for the plant to serve as a positive promotional asset for both Lonsdale Energy and the City. The architectural approach aims to achieve operation functionality, sustainability excellence, promote community engagement, and enhance SHRP’s identity within its neighborhood.
