The four-storey school serves 510 students from kindergarten to grade 7 and shares a public park while connecting to an existing daycare and a 30-storey residential tower. Designed around 21st-century learning principles, the school fosters collaboration and connectivity through a central open stair that links open learning spaces across all levels.
An active ground floor accommodates the gymnasium, multipurpose spaces, and administration, strengthening the school’s relationship with the surrounding community. Upper levels provide protected outdoor play and learning areas.
The building’s massing responds to adjacent residential towers and Andy Livingstone Park, forming a three-storey volume above a transparent ground level. Colourful reading nooks project from the south façade, creating visual engagement with the street while supporting quiet study. A clearly articulated main entrance, defined by two contrasting frames, draws daylight deep into the building, while playful coloured panels and sunshades animate the façade against the muted tones of the Pacific Northwest.
