Bayview introduces a compact, two-storey design with carved niches and an elevated library "ocular" engaging Collingwood Street’s tree canopy. The program includes a Neighbourhood Learning Centre housing out of school care and pre-school.
Corridor learning commons, breakout spaces, operable classroom walls, and a preschool/NLC area support 21st-century learning within LEED Gold-equivalent performance. The design is a compact and efficient building massing that is carved away to introduce a variety of niches along the most prominent east elevation. A central extrusion of the library massing has a higher volume and acts like an ocular projection into the mature tree canopy along Collingwood Street.
