The design responds with a modular plug-and-play infrastructure strategy that allows laboratories, offices, and support zones to be reconfigured quickly and efficiently. At the roofline, an integrated mechanical enclosure resolves the challenge of concealing substantial technical systems without disrupting the architectural mountain views from Jonathan Rogers Park.
The façade results from iterative environmental modeling, achieving a refined balance of transparency, performance, and visual rhythm. The unitized curtain wall modulates daylight, glare, and solar heat gain while maximizing comfort for research and office environments.
A recessed ground level establishes a generous, human-scaled frontage and frames a new public plaza on Manitoba Street. This plaza anchors the building within its context and contributes to a broader network of public and social infrastructure.
