Shea started his professional career by helping the Christchurch earthquake rebuild in New Zealand where he developed a passion for new teaching styles in architecture. Since moving back to Canada, Shea has been involved with the mass timber trend, working on the Oregon State University mass timer building for the College of Forestry. This further cultivated his understanding of contemporary wood products and fabrication techniques, and he continues to explore these interests through volunteering with Design Build Research, where he’s completed several projects for TED. Shea is most content in the mountains and when fetching beer for the office on Fridays.
